An international gathering of breast cancer survivors at a Sunshine Coast dragon boat regatta will allow researchers to conduct the world's first study into the link between air travel and a swollen arm condition suffered by many breast cancer survivors.
Caring for a patient with sepsis requires walking a treatment tightrope. Clinicians must identify the pathogen that is causing a patient's infection, carefully monitor the patient's response to antibiotics and supportive measures and race against the clock to prevent potential organ failure and death.
Research presented at the 20th annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) scientific symposium, sponsored by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF), found that coronary heart disease (CHD) symptoms presented in the context of a stressful life event were identified as psychogenic in origin when presented by women and organic in origin when presented by men. The study could help explain why there is often a delay in the assessment of women with heart disease.
Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. today announced positive results from a Phase 2 clinical trial of the Company's lead drug, A-101. In the trial, A-101 demonstrated clinically and statistically significant improvements in clearing seborrheic keratoses (SK), one of the most common types of skin tumors.
