Researchers from North Carolina State University, Sandia National Laboratories, and the University of California, San Diego have developed new technology that uses microneedles to allow doctors to detect real-time chemical changes in the body - and to continuously do so for an extended period of time.
Janice Tunnicliffe, 55 has become allergic to electromagnetic fields and electricity after a course of chemotherapy for bowel cancer. Fortunately, despite the size of the tumor, her cancer had not spread, but it was decided that she should have chemotherapy after the surgery as a precautionary measure.
The proposal for a National Health Insurance (NHI) was without doubt the most significant development in South Africa's healthcare sector in 2010. The aim of the NHI is to create universal healthcare coverage for all the country's citizens.
