More than 60 years after the drug thalidomide caused birth defects in thousands of children whose mothers took the drug while pregnant, scientists at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute have solved a mystery that has lingered ever since the dangers of the drug first became apparent: how did the drug produce such severe fetal harm?
Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. today reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014. Financial highlights for the second quarter include revenues of $18.4 million and a net loss of $16.3 million, or $0.13 per share.
Preliminary results from a study in mice suggest it may be possible to regenerate cochlear hair cells that have been damaged due to excessive noise exposure.
