The trials awarded by prominent pharmaceutical companies include the company's eSP™ core lab services, gold standard KoKo® spirometry, and new patent pending PiKoLogic® electronic patient reported outcomes (ePRO) solution.
Patients with severely injured limbs often suffer a devastating loss of sensation. The implants, called "nerve guidance conduits" or NGCs were produced by British and German engineers with a laser technique normally used to write complex electrical circuits. Made from a form of biodegradable plastic, they guide regrowing nerve fibres through individual channels to aid recovery. Once the nerves are fully regrown and reconnected, the device dissolves away.
A social and emotional skills intervention developed to help children recover from the trauma of natural disasters is being adapted to help young Syrian refugees heal their psychological wounds.
Seniors enrolled in Medicare have until Wednesday to select a medical and prescription-drug plan for 2012.
