Researchers have developed techniques to detect Lyme disease bacteria weeks sooner than current tests, allowing patients to start treatment earlier.
A new executive briefing sponsored by Systematic Development Group brings to light the top seven methods that healthcare organizations should apply to reduce the effects of a data breach and minimize data breach insurance costs. Some hospitals may be surprised to find that although they have a data breach insurance policy in place, several of the biggest threats of a data breach may not be covered under the plan.
The five conservative justices relentlessly questioned Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr., who defended the law. Justice Antonin Scalia asked whether upholding the mandate would mean that Congress could require everyone to exercise. Justice Samuel Alito asked whether the mandate wasn't really a disguised subsidy of sick people by healthy people. Chief Justice John Roberts asked whether a mandate to purchase health insurance you may need some day was any different from a requirement to buy a cell phone for use in a possible emergency. Alito asked whether the government could force Americans to buy burial coverage, since it is something everyone will eventually need.
Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital announced today that it has joined U-Systems national clinical research study designed to evaluate whether digital mammography, when combined with the somo•v Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS) from U-Systems, Inc (Sunnyvale, CA), is more sensitive in detecting breast lesions compared to mammography alone in women with dense breasts. Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is the only site in Michigan, and one of only ten breast cancer centers in the entire country, currently recruiting women for the SOMO•INSIGHT clinical study.
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine have shed new light on how surgery impacts both chronic kidney disease and bone health, particularly in women.
