This has the potential to help stroke patients recover their mobility more quickly. These are the results of PhD research by Maarten Steyvers of the Department of Kinesiology, K.U.Leuven.
Dr Paulo Rocha from the University of Bath's Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering is developing a low-cost integrative sensing tool for early detection of Dengue virus, using a novel platform containing electrical sensors to investigate the behavior of human cells infected with Dengue virus.
One in four patients with diabetes are not receiving the appropriate cardiovascular medications, research launched at the British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) in Manchester has shown.
US physicians who attended a medical school with a policy restricting acceptance of gifts from pharmaceutical companies are less likely to prescribe newly marketed drugs than physicians who were not exposed to such restrictions during training, according to research published in the BMJ.
A new drive to harness the research potential of the NHS was given a further boost today by the creation of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC).
