Australian researchers have discovered that more than one quarter of men with hemochromatosis develop liver cancer, arthritis and other complications.
Visceral, or deep belly, obesity is a risk factor for bone loss and decreased bone strength in men, according to a study presented today at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
"After years of planning, fundraising and consultations, U.N. Women was officially launched Thursday," Inter Press Service reports, describing the expectations for the agency voiced by leaders gathered at the event. The ceremonial launch took place during a meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York, U.N. News Centre writes.
