The results of a new Phase III clinical trial have demonstrated that a new class of drugs, called "NK-1 receptor antagonists," is more effective at reducing vomiting after surgery than the most commonly used drug, according to the Duke University Medical Center researchers who led the trial.
Scientists have found a "molecular Achilles heel" in the organism that causes pneumonia, providing a target for the development of a new class of antibiotics that could eventually eradicate the disease.
The AMERIGROUP Foundation teamed up with the ALS Association today in support of a 4K walk, groundbreaking and beach party to benefit the Grommet Island park project - a first of its kind, 100 percent handicap-accessible oceanfront destination - in Virginia Beach.
New diagnostic tests for auditory processing disorder (APD), which is estimated to affect between 2 and 7 percent of children could be available within five years through research funded by the charity Action on Hearing Loss. The news is announced in the charity's latest Hearing Progress report.
