Redwood Healthcare Staffing, a provider of temporary nurse staffing and travel nursing, has announced the offering of new franchise opportunities. The staffing firm has open territories for sale in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado. Redwood Healthcare Staffing, a Los Angeles based temporary healthcare staffing company, was formed in 2010 by CEO Veerpal Brar to address the growing demand for healthcare professionals by providing prospective franchisees a guided way into understanding how to create a competitive advantage in the medical staffing industry.
Researcher Stacy Sims, a research scientist and exercise physiologist at Stanford University School of Medicine presented her findings Tuesday at the American Heart Association's Epidemiology and Prevention/Nutrition, Physical Activity and Metabolism scientific sessions in San Diego. "If you think about adipose [fat] tissue, it's a great insulator," Sims said. For people who are obese, that means they often get too hot while exercising. "It would be like Lance Armstrong wearing a wet suit for the entire Tour de France," she said. "We're trying to address those barriers."
The Obama administration has set aside $19B for physicians to adopt electronic medical record systems. Today, 75% of doctors practice in offices with 10 doctors or fewer. For them, the investment is cost-prohibitive: the technology costs from $25,000 to over $75,000. Not surprisingly, only 17% of physicians use computerized records, according to the New York Journal of Medicine. Yet, one service provider allows physicians to switch to electronic medical records - free - and make their practice more profitable.
According to a new study by The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), new evidence proves the safety of a robotic prostatectomy with the lowest complication rates in prostate cancer treatment. This comes as no surprise to Dr. David Samadi, Chief of the Division of Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery in the Department of Urology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, who has performed over 3,000 successful robotic prostate surgeries in the fight against prostate cancer.
