The World Health Organization (WHO) has created a list of health threats for the New Year. Interestingly, Anti-vaccination movement has featured among the top threats to the world. The anti-vaccination movement comprises of a group of people who are reluctant to getting vaccinated and refuse to vaccinate themselves or their children against vaccine preventable infections.
According to a new report by iData Research, the leading authority in medical device and pharmaceutical market research, the U.S. peripheral vascular device market is worth $2.8 billion with expected growth to over $5.3 billion by 2016. Increased detection and treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) are the main drivers of this market, particularly in the stent-graft and peripheral vascular stent segments. These markets are both expected to exceed $1 billion by 2016.
Several individuals and organizations were honored at the 91st Annual Meeting of the New Jersey Hospital Association today at the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
The plague outbreak in Madagascar is killing scores of people and affecting hundreds. Last estimated on the 12th of October 2017, there are 57 reported deaths due to the disease with 680 down with the infection. Of these 25 deaths and 329 cases are from the capital city of Antananarivo.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association today announced it has awarded $1.4 million in new research funding to the biopharmaceutical firm Repligen of Waltham, Mass., to complete the preclinical work needed to begin human clinical trials of a promising therapeutic compound for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
