A new study presented today showed that ramelteon did not impair middle-of-the-night balance, mobility or memory performance in older adults with insomnia, relative to placebo.
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today introduced the Thermo Scientific SecureSette, a new cassette for histology laboratories that reduces embedding time by 50 percent. The innovative design of new SecureSetteā¢ cassettes makes embedding extremely simple; tissues are orientated during grossing and the cassette is not opened during embedding. An integral sponge securely holds tissue in place during processing which not only improves orientation, but also reduces the time spent re-embedding incorrectly aligned samples by more than half. The result is a more efficient workflow, higher quality and improved patient safety without the need to purchase additional equipment.
Chromatrap announces that seven further popular antibodies have been validated for use in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays by their UK-based research team.
Research Down Syndrome (RDS), a nonprofit foundation that is among the leading sources for funding of Down syndrome related cognitive research, is entering the second year of its national running program, Race for the Extraordinary, to help increase public awareness and funding for Down syndrome research. The mission of RDS is the development of safe and effective therapies to address the intellectual difficulties associated with Down syndrome.
According to a study in the April issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology, the department of radiology at the University of Colorado in Denver has developed a convenient, pocket-sized reference card to communicate the effective doses and radiation risks of common adult radiologic exams to referring physicians and patients.
