A new study finds that doctors are working fewer hours even as the shortage of primary care physicians persists.
A new analysis of cancer drug development by researchers at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, shows that the more revolutionary a new cancer drug is, the longer it takes to reach patients in the UK's National Health Service healthcare system. In other words, refinements on earlier drugs or drugs which are more conventional in their effects make it to the marketplace faster
Offenders enrolled in alcohol treatment programmes as part of their sentence are significantly less likely to be charged or reconvicted in the 12 months following their programme, a study led by Plymouth University has shown.
Russian veterinary officials have closed down a popular pet market in Moscow after the recent outbreaks of the deadly bird flu were all traced back to the market.
"Uganda continues to fall short of achieving its goal of ensuring that 80 percent of people living with HIV receive antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) by 2015, according to the Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC)," PlusNews reports.
