But a study recently published in PLOS ONE found that pregnancy intentions often change over as short as a 12-month time period and that they specifically vary with partner status, household income, and employment status.
California's Attorney General Bill Lockyer today released comprehensive California crime statistics for 2003 that showed a decrease in violent crime of 3.4 percent and in increase in property crime of 2 percent when compared to 2002.
While the overall death rates from several cancers such as breast and lung have gone down, there has been a meteoric rise in cases of esophageal cancer. Studies have shown that from 1975 to 2001, the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma rose approximately sixfold in the United States (from four to 23 cases per million), a relative increase greater than that for melanoma, breast, or prostate cancer.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has awarded a $3.5 million grant for AIDS vaccine research to Phillip Berman, professor and chair of biomolecular engineering at the Jack Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
