BioCryst Pharmaceuticals has announced that investigators at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, reported favorable results evaluating peramivir treatment in an animal model of influenza using a highly virulent strain of H5N1 virus (an avian influenza strain that had caused fatal human infection in Viet Nam).
A new delivery method for levodopa/carbidopa, a common dual-drug Parkinson's disease (PD) regimen, significantly improved the duration of the drugs' effectiveness in people with advanced PD, according to research by Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Tyco International Ltd. today reported $0.55 in diluted earnings per share (EPS) from continuing operations for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2010 and diluted EPS from continuing operations before special items of $0.74 per share. Their study titled, "High-Quality Masks Can Reduce Infections and Deaths in the US," was released on the preprint server medRxiv.
