A drug developed by scientists at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, known as J147, reverses memory deficits and slows Alzheimer's disease in aged mice following short-term treatment.
"This is a major step and the result of a lot of hard and excellent work by our members and partners all over Europe", says the HBPs Scientific Director, Katrin Amunts, a medical doctor and neuroscientist based at Forschungszentrum Jülich and Full Professor for Brain Research at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in Germany.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting the public to a voluntary recall being conducted by Perrigo Company (Perrigo) of Allegan, Michigan for 383 lots of acetaminophen 500mg caplets manufactured and distributed under various store-brands as a result of small metal fragments found in a small number of these caplets.
