Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Teva Parenteral Medicines, Inc., Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., which includes a stipulation by the parties requesting dismissal of the lawsuit filed by Cubist in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware relating to the Abbreviated New Drug Application filed by TPM with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a generic version of CUBICIN.
ABC News' "OTUS" blog features an interview with former first lady Laura Bush, who discusses the importance of foreign aid and how she and her husband, former President George W. Bush, "will be building off the success of [PEPFAR] and continuing to work to fight AIDS in Africa and worldwide," including "help[ing] women in developing countries screen for cervical cancer".
A new campaign explores the roles and responsibilities women uniquely encounter when living, or caring for a loved one, with epilepsy. "Women Succeeding with Epilepsy" is a collaboration between Epilepsy Advocate and HealthyWomen to educate, empower and inspire women and families whose lives are affected by epilepsy.
A large analysis of more than 100 studies from around the world shows that exposure to pesticides, or bug and weed killers, and solvents is likely associated with a higher risk of developing Parkinson's disease. The research appears in the May 28, 2013, print issue of Neurology-, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
Scientists have known for some time that exercise induces neurogenesis in a specific brain region, the hippocampus. However, until this study, the underlying mechanism was not fully understood.
