A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating (FSR) of B+ (Good) and issuer credit rating (ICR) of "bbb-" of American Healthcare Specialty Insurance Company (AHSIC) (Little Rock, AR), and assigned a category NR-5 (Not Formally Followed) to the FSR and an "nr" to the ICR.
As the incidence of diabetes and hypertension continues to grow worldwide – and increasing numbers of patients progressing to kidney disease and kidney failure place a financial strain on public health systems – the need for early patient education about kidney disease and treatment options, including home-based treatments, has become critical.
Only about half of obese adult Americans were advised by their doctors to cut down on fatty foods in 2006, and the rate had not significantly changed since 2002, according to the latest News and Numbers from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Today, the Ontario Hospital Association expressed disappointment that the 2010 Ontario Budget did not provide the hospital sector with the 2% increase to base operating funding recommended for 2010/11, but also expressed its strong support for the creation of a committee to address hospital working capital deficits and the Budget's reiteration of the government's intent to proceed with a review of the Public Hospitals Act.
