The Massachusetts Independent Pharmacists Association today announced the kickoff of a campaign aimed at educating consumers about a proposal to help save money on prescription medications. MIPA was joined by patient groups, pharmacists, and lawmakers at a Boston pharmacy, Tremont Drug, to highlight the fact that Massachusetts is the only state in the nation that bans the use of manufacturer discounts and co-pay assistance programs for the purchase of prescription drugs.
A more flexible drug-eluting stent studied in clinical trials at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center has been approved by the FDA, and Methodist physicians were the first in Houston to implant the new device.
Crescent Healthcare today announced a planned expansion of their east coast operations in 2011. They signed a lease to open an infusion pharmacy in Totowa, New Jersey, central to providing immune globulin therapies and services to current patients in Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, and Rhode Island.
According to a study which looked at teenage sexual practices, contrary to widespread belief, teenagers do not commonly engage in oral sex as a way of preserving their virginity.
