Improved treatment for type 2 diabetes might result from a new study by University of Queensland researchers.
A team of researchers including investigators from Mayo Clinic has identified a technology to address the problem of false positives in CT-based lung cancer screening. The team's findings are published in the current issue of PLOS One.
Sirona Dental Systems, the company that pioneered digital dentistry more than 27 years ago and the global number one producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, will celebrate the 27 and a half year anniversary of its industry-changing CEREC CAD/CAM system at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino August 16-18, 2012.
Although erectile dysfunction (ED) has been shown to be an early warning sign for heart disease, some physicians - and patients - still think of it as just as a natural part of "old age." But now an international team of researchers, led by physicians at The Miriam Hospital, say it's time to expand ED symptom screening to include younger and middle-aged men.
A new study published in Circulation, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Heart Association and led by a cardiologist at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at Toronto General Hospital has found evidence that only one of the 21 genes normally associated with Brugada Syndrome, a serious genetic heart condition associated with the risk of sudden arrhythmic death, is a definitive cause of the condition.
