New research from Australian and Singaporean scientists has revealed how immune cell 'spies' are created, providing clues on how the immune system could be manipulated to better fight disease.
An overwhelming majority of gay and lesbian people in New Zealand want government recognition of same sex relationships. Most of them would prefer that recognition to be marriage rather than a civil union. That is one of the many findings from the Lavender Islands survey – the most extensive survey of this community ever undertaken in New Zealand.
A third of patients have unnecessary tubes (cannulae) inserted when they are in hospital, needlessly exposing them to serious complications such as infection and blood clots, research launched at the British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) in Manchester has shown.
