A movie about a British monarch who ruled his country more than a half-century ago is finding an unusual resonance for millions of Americans who stutter.
John DeLuca, PhD, a clinical neuropsychologist and Senior Vice President of Research and Training at Kessler Foundation, is the co-chief editor of the new 2nd edition "Encyclopedia of Clinical Neuropsychology". Published by Springer, it is the first major encyclopedia of adult and pediatric neuropsychological disorders.
In an effort to eliminate the tropical diseases elephantiasis and river blindness, a Michigan State University researcher has been awarded $2 million to reformulate an existing drug that could stop the debilitating diseases in their tracks.
The Army is using dogs "much more" to help soldiers recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) according to the Army Surgeon General's special assistant for mental health, Col. Elspeth Cameron Ritchie, M.D., who spoke today at the annual convention of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Abusive head injury, sometimes referred to as shaken baby syndrome or non-accidental trauma, is the third leading cause of head injuries in small children in the US. For children under the age of 1 year, it is the cause of the majority of serious head injuries.
