Reverse Medical Corporation announced today that it has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conditional approval to begin a neurothrombectomy IDE study for its ReStore™ Microcatheter at twenty US centers. The study is planned to begin enrollment in US and European hospitals following investigating study center Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals.
USA Today on Tuesday examined the debate surrounding a New Jersey bill (S 494) that would establish a needle-exchange program in six cities and provide $10 million to drug treatment programs in the state.
"Facing a backlash from small businesses over a new tax-reporting requirement in the healthcare law the president signed in March, the Obama administration is embracing the first change to the landmark legislation," the Los Angeles Times reports. "In a letter to Senate leaders, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner urged the Senate to back a proposal to scale back the new reporting mandate.
