Mediware Information Systems, Inc. announced today that Virginia Blood Services (VBS) has licensed the company's LifeTrak® blood donor management software to enhance the automation of data management capabilities. The addition of LifeTrak will enable the blood center to more efficiently manage thousands of donor records, including the complex donor eligibility requirements that blood centers are required to calculate.
Haptic interfaces have been readily adopted because of their intuitive ease of use and convenience.
A novel, lower-dose formulation of indomethacin, a widely used pain reliever, is absorbed faster by the body than a standard formulation and maintains comparable maximum concentrations in the blood despite being administered at a lower dose, according to a study to be reported here tomorrow at the annual meeting of the American Headache Society.

The scientists were the first to shed light on the dynamics of the three-dimensional structure of the binding site of an olfactory receptor. In so doing, they also found a characteristic pattern of hydrogen bonds between odorant and receptor, which accounts for the specificity of the olfactory sensors.
