Smokefree Innotec, Inc. Thomas Schroepfer, CEO, announced today that the Company has executed a Joint venture agreement with a Colorado research and development corporation focusing on natural holistic and herbal medical compounds, operating out of laboratory facilities located in Colorado Springs. The business objective is to jointly develop and market several smoke-free high tech natural and herbal pharmacological products, initially based upon an oral delivery system utilizing the innovative technology developed for the "REAL Smokefree Cigarette". Under this joint venture Smokefree Innotec, Inc. will provide its smoke-free products and devices, and its venture partner will provide all the medical extract formulations to the Company.
Because of the significant benefit found in combining the targeted drug ibrutinib with standard chemotherapy for relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), an interim analysis has closed the international HELIOS phase III clinical trial.
Components in grapes, including some newly identified ones, work together to dramatically inhibit an enzyme crucial to the proliferation of cancer cells, say scientists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
A new paper in the February 15th issue of Genes & Development lends novel insight into the cellular changes that occur in sperm while they reside in the female reproductive tract - providing a new understanding of the molecular genetics of successful fertilization.
Researchers from Tufts University devised a novel experiment wherein they engineered beta cells of the pancreas and transplanted these cells onto the pancreas of diabetic mice. This resulted in two to three times insulin production by the diabetic mice that helped them control their blood sugar. These transplanted cells could be controlled using light exposure explained scientists, making this a path breaking study for diabetics.
