NovaDel Pharma Inc. today announced that it has received a $500,000 milestone payment from Akrimax Pharmaceuticals. The milestone payment was received in connection with the license and distribution agreement, dated October 27, 2009, between NovaDel Pharma Inc. and Mist Acquisition, LLC, an affiliate of Akrimax Pharmaceuticals.
Older women who have smoked for 11 or more "pack years" - the lifetime equivalent of a pack a day for at least 11 years - face a 30 percent to 40 percent increased risk of developing breast cancer as compared to women who've never smoked, according to new findings from researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

The latest research shows that women who were victims of childhood abuse may be at increased risk of developing diabetes in adulthood. For the study the scientist team looked at 67,853 U.S. nurses in the Nurses Health Study II and found that 54 percent reported physical abuse and 34 percent reported sexual abuse before age 18. Moderate and severe physical and sexual abuse was associated with a 26 percent to 69 percent increased risk of type 2 diabetes in adulthood.
