"Night owls" -; people who like to stay up late and have trouble dragging themselves out of bed in the morning -; have a higher risk of dying sooner than "larks," people who have a natural preference for going to bed early and rise with the sun, according to a new study from Northwestern Medicine and the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom.
Men and women may need to be treated differently - at least when it comes to some types of cancer. In an analysis to be presented at the ESMO 2018 Congress in Munich, data was pooled from four UK randomized controlled clinical trials of first line chemotherapy in oesophagogastric cancer, finding significant differences in a number of important side-effects experienced by male and female patients.
An expanding population of bacterial strains that are drug resistant, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), will be the most important justification for nucleic acid-based tests (NAT).
The American College of Chest Physicians and The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) are releasing an Oxygen Toolkit supporting individuals who require supplemental oxygen and clinicians who prescribe supplemental oxygen to their patients.
