Researchers at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz have shown that a new way of regulating genes is vital for the activity of the nervous system.
How people can develop limb gangrene and lose fingers and feet has baffled doctors for centuries. Now a McMaster University hematologist has identified different limb loss syndromes along with explanations for what is happening and what can be done about it.
86% of UK residents who tested positive for COVID-19 during lockdown did not have the specific virus symptoms (cough, and/or fever, and/or loss of taste/smell), finds a new study by UCL researchers. The authors say a more widespread testing programme is needed to catch 'silent' transmission and reduce future outbreaks.
