Researchers have released an interesting new study that describes the broad-spectrum of antiviral activity that phycobilins can have. Phycobilins, which are bioactive plant compounds, were found to inhibit two coronavirus enzymes.
Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a global leader of in vitro diagnostics with a rich history of bringing critical tests for infectious diseases to market, today announced its second COVID-19 antibody test—the VITROS Immunodiagnostic Products Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG Test received CE Mark. The test offers 100% specificity.
Most would say worse. And one of the many reasons is medical errors. Most Americans say the quality of care has not improved, and dissatisfaction among patients and caregivers has increased. The perceptions exist despite the efforts across the country to reduce medical errors.
Washington State's surgical community announces today the kickoff of the Strong for Surgery initiative. Strong for Surgery's goal is to educate the healthcare community on effective steps that can be taken to better prepare patients for surgery and provide the best outcomes possible. The initiative is led by the University of Washington's CERTAIN program and is working in partnership with the Surgical Care and Outcomes Assessment Program (SCOAP).
