New warnings have been added to the prescribing information for the Alzheimer's drug Aricept (donepezil) advising of the risk of two rare but potentially serious conditions: muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis) and a neurological disorder called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS).
Omthera Pharmaceuticals, a privately-held emerging specialty pharmaceuticals company, today announced data from its ECLIPSE trial, designed to evaluate the bioavailability of Epanova™, the Company's lead compound for the treatment of very high triglycerides, in comparison to Lovaza®, the leading prescription Omega 3.
An experimental artificial heart includes an autoregulation control mechanism, or Auto-Mode, that can adjust to the changing needs of patients treated for end-stage heart failure.
