A new study has found that when it comes to cosmetic versus urgent dermatology appointments, cosmetic procedures win hands down.
The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology-the monthly, peer-reviewed flagship publication of the Society of Interventional Radiology-announced several major changes for 2011-all directed at highlighting the global impact of this minimally invasive medical specialty and its lead journal.
A lower dose of radiation used to reduce side effects is not as effective as the regular dose when given with the standard chemotherapy in the treatment of Hodgkin's lymphoma patients with early, intermediate-stage disease, according to a first-of-its-kind randomized study presented at the plenary session, November 1, 2010, at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
It is estimated that 80% of women will suffer from vaginal candidiasis at least once in their lives. In addition to superficial infections, which can be oral or vaginal and do not usually have a serious prognosis, fungi of the Candida genus can cause systemic diseases in immunocompromised individuals and these are fatal in 40% of cases.
