A new study has revealed the underlying mechanism of development of antibiotic resistance among Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa). Pseudomonas is known to cause severe and often life threatening infections in humans. These infections become further difficult to treat because of the development of resistance against commonly used antibiotics.
Research published in the current issue of Science magazine reinforces the belief that aerobic capacity is an important determinant in the continuum between health and disease.
TrovaGene, Inc., a developer of trans-renal molecular diagnostics, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire MultiGEN Diagnostics, Inc.'s clinical laboratory assets in exchange for the issuance of 750,000 shares of common stock of TrovaGene, with an additional earn-out of up to $3.7 million in cash and common stock, subject to the achievement of specific sales and earnings targets.
A study by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco has shown that hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a predictor of mortality among breast cancer patients, especially those who are African-American, and that hypertension accounts for approximately 30 percent of the survival disparity between African-American and white breast cancer patients.
