Handheld devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) and the iPod Touch are prevalent among doctors. However a recent study shows that these devices may be particularly useful for emergency radiologists, who in the near future, may be able to use them for teleconsultation and emergency procedures, according to a study published in the February issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology.
The emergence of the Delta variant (B.1.617.2) in the United States has backtracked many plans to return to a pre-COVID era. A surge in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant has caused a rise in COVID-19 deaths and hospitalizations after what was previously a steady decline during the summer.
The findings of a new study call into question the longstanding belief that the higher risk of premature death seen in hemodialysis patients who are treated with catheters is due to an elevated risk of complications.
A new study finds that around one woman in 70 is at risk of developing ovarian cancer, which claims more than 4,200 lives a year and this could be attributed to a faulty RAD15D gene. The gene raised the risk to one in 11.
Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc. announced today that it has amended its existing Credit Agreement to lower the applicable interest rates and modify certain other covenants. The Amendment (i) reduces the interest rate margin applicable to the term loan under the Credit Agreement by 0.75% to 3.00% and (ii) reduces the LIBOR floor applicable to the term loan under the Credit Agreement from 1.50% to 1.00%.
