The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) a four-year, $1,050,000 grant to support the education of nursing students.
An international team of scientists has identified the possible cause of a colonial-era epidemic in Mexico. Using new techniques in ancient DNA research, experts from the Max Plank Institute, Harvard University and the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History, identified Salmonella enterica Paratyphi C in skeletons left behind from the 1545-1550 cocoliztli epidemic.
Operating room and critical care area specialist, Starkstrom, recently completed a major project with the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, involving the Trust's hospitals at Watford and St Albans.
A study investigating how a cellular enzyme affects blood glucose levels in mice provides clues to pathways that may be involved in processes including the regulation of longevity and the proliferation of tumor cells.
New plans announced by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) mean that hospitals will need to accelerate changes to patient care if they are to avoid receiving lower payments.
