Janssen Biotech, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson Innovation announced today the establishment of a research alliance with The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to advance the scientific understanding of inflammatory bowel disease and the discovery of next generation therapeutic solutions.
A team of researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology has developed a software tool that physicians can use to easily study the wiring of the brains of their patients. The tool converts MRI scans using special techniques to three-dimensional images. This now makes it possible to view a total picture of the winding roads and their contacts without having to operate.
Bioniche Life Sciences Inc., a research-based, technology driven Canadian biopharmaceutical company, today announced achievement of a US$4.0 million milestone payment from its development partner, Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. This milestone is the fourth achieved by Bioniche subsequent to the parties executing their agreement in July, 2009.
A new imaging system using six different wavelengths to illuminate the interior of the eyeball (ocular fundus) may pave the way for doctors to easily screen patients for common diseases of the eye, such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. The system is described in the journal Review of Scientific Instruments, which is published by the American Institute of Physics.
New research finds that patients may not always receive all of the screening tests and counseling services that are due during their medical checkups.
