The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) today proposed new ways to deliver high quality, cost-effective care to women with gynecologic cancers.
Scientists have found a new way of joining groups of atoms together into shape-changing molecules - opening up the possibility of a new area of chemistry and the development of countless new drugs, microelectronics and materials with novel characteristics.
When confronted with adverse situations such as the loss of a loved one, some people never fully recover from the pain. Others, the majority, pull through and experiment how the intensity of negative emotions (e.g. anxiety, depression) grows dimmer with time until they adapt to the new situation. A third group is made up of individuals whose adversities have made them grow personally and whose life takes on new meaning, making them feel stronger than before.
Emisphere Technologies, Inc. announced study results in which twice-daily oral salmon calcitonin using Emisphere's proprietary Eligen® Drug Delivery Technology significantly suppressed markers of cartilage and bone degradation versus placebo in men and women with osteoarthritis, the most common form of arthritis.
Colorectal carcinomas arise in different forms, so all treatments do not work for all patients. OncoTrack, a public-private consortium supported by the Innovative Medicines Initiative Joint Undertaking, has conducted one of Europe's largest collaborative academic-industry research projects to develop and assess novel approaches for identification of new markers for colon cancer.
