The "Scientific Oktoberfest" will be this year's meeting point for some of the internationally most distinguished researchers in the field of Chemical Biology. The so-called "CIPSM Fest of Chemical Biology" will be held from the 15th to the 16th of September in the Department of Chemistry of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München.
Up to eight out of ten patients with a brain disorder remain untreated or inadequately treated. But what is the best practice - and above all, most cost effective - healthcare interventions to bridge the treatment gap? This was the focus of the European Brain Council's study entitled The Value of Treatment which was discussed at the Congress of the European Academy of Neurology in Lisbon.
A new study has shown that the immune cells within the gut could be related to the rate of metabolism. The results of the new study titled, "Gut intraepithelial T cells calibrate metabolism and accelerate cardiovascular disease," are published in the latest issue of the journal Nature.
In the scientific article recently published in Scandinavian Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology, Erica Ramstad and others reviewed the existing evidence between various psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, problems with concentration or anxiety with methylphenidate, a drug commonly prescribed as a treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy.
