The American Fertility Association (The AFA), a national family-building non-profit organization, is heading to college campuses around the country to educate young men and women about infertility - a disease affecting one out of 6 couples in the U.S. The 2011 College Tour Series kicks off on March 4th at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
The Automation Partnership (TAP), a world leader in the design and development of innovative automation for life science applications is pleased to announce that its collaboration with leading translational research group, the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Regenerative Medicine at Loughborough University is to continue into a second five year phase. This follows the recent announcement by Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and Lord Mandelson, UK Secretary of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills of a £5.33 million grant to the centre.
African-American patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and previously treated depression that persists at their MI hospitalization have an increased risk of post-MI death, according to Emory researcher Susmita Parashar, MD, MPH.
"There is a direct correlation between access to voluntary family planning, women's empowerment and environmental sustainability," author Diane MacEachern writes in the Huffington Post's "Global Motherhood" blog, adding, "And though the official delegates to last week's 'Earth Summit' tried to water it down, thousands of grassroots activists made it one of the biggest issues to rock Rio+20, as the event was also called."
