A new center is bringing together researchers from Princeton and Rutgers universities to apply computational modeling to the understanding of psychiatric diseases.
Merck announced today that it is disappointed with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to affirm a lower court's ruling on when the statute of limitations began to run in a federal securities class action against the company and certain of its officers and directors. The effect of the ruling is to return the case to federal district court in New Jersey for further proceedings.
For 80 years it has been accepted that early life began in a 'primordial soup' of organic molecules before evolving out of the oceans millions of years later. Today the 'soup' theory has been over turned in a pioneering paper in BioEssays which claims it was the Earth's chemical energy, from hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor, which kick-started early life.
A new study of more than 2,000 perimenopausal and menopausal women showed that moderate-severe vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes or night sweats) were an independent and significant risk factor for moderate-severe depression.
