WaterAid and the London School of Hygiene &Tropical Medicine today join the World Health Organization, UNICEF, UNFPA, SHARE Research Consortium and other organisations in a call to protect the lives of new mothers and their babies, by improving access to safe water, basic sanitation and hygiene in healthcare facilities and homes.
Xenomics, Inc. a developer of trans-renal molecular diagnostic technologies, announced today that it has filed a complaint against Sequenom, Inc. in the Supreme Court of the State of New York alleging that Sequenom fraudulently misrepresented to Xenomics the status of its testing for Down Syndrome and based upon such conduct, Xenomics was induced to enter into a license agreement with Sequenom thereby giving up various valuable patent rights.
When a heart attack begins, a stopwatch starts. With each passing minute heart tissue is deprived of blood, causing it to deteriorate or die. In order to minimize damage to the heart, blood flow must be restored promptly, or the effects can be serious, often even fatal.
The present study investigates whether the function of the intestines is also attacked in MS. The results, obtained from a disease model of MS in mice, shows inflammation and changes in the barrier function of the intestines early in the course of the disease.
