Scientists have discovered that two chemicals that are commonly used to flavor e-cigarettes can cause harm to the human lungs.
Sangart, Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing life-saving medicines specifically designed to enhance the perfusion and oxygenation of ischemic (oxygen deprived) tissues through targeted oxygen delivery, today announced the initiation of a dose-finding study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of MP4OX treatment plus standard of care in severely injured trauma patients with lactic acidosis due to hemorrhagic shock.
American Medical News: "AvMed Health, a Florida-based health plan, said data about nearly 1.2 million members and former members were breached when two laptops were stolen in December 2009 from an AvMed office in Gainesville, Fla. The insurer notified 360,000 customers of the breach in February. But AvMed said on June 3 that further investigation found that an additional 860,000 people had been affected. Information included names, addresses, birth dates, Social Security numbers and health information.
Aetna today announced a new team-based fitness and nutrition program for employers nationwide that uses online social networking to encourage people of all health and fitness levels to work together with their colleagues to achieve their optimal health.
A new study examines a major consequence of the second wave of COVID-19 infection—namely, the rapid emergence of new viral lineages and variants.
