Next week, this issue and others will take center stage at the 2010 joint meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Physical Society, which takes place from Feb. 13-17 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Sarit Larisch, Head of the Cell Death Research Laboratory and senior lecturer at the University of Haifa, has been awarded the prestigious Johnson & Johnson Focused Funding grant for her research exploring the cause of brain cell damage in Parkinson's disease.
Rush University, in partnership with the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), has been awarded a three-year, $500,000 Market Development Cooperative Grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to help boost medical travel to U.S. academic medical centers.
Antibiotics for acute rhinosinusitis are prescribed frequently- especially for younger adult patients and in primary care settings-despite recent consensus guidelines that discourage antibiotic use in mild cases, according to a study in the May 2013 issue of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
The state attorney general and 15 school districts filed a lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service, claiming that tax penalties for businesses with 50 or more full-time employees that fail to provide health benefits cannot be enforced against state or local governments.
