Wilson Therapeutics AB, a privately-held biopharmaceutical company, today announced its sponsorship of the first annual Big Walk on Wilson's (BIG WOW). Celgene International Sàrl announced that data evaluating combination therapy REVLIMID (lenalidomide) and dexamethasone in patients with high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma were presented during the American Society of Hematology's annual meeting in New Orleans, LA. The landmark study demonstrated REVLIMID and dexamethasone prolonged time to progression, including complete responses, with manageable toxicity.
The bipartisan track and trace draft legislation released last week would allow drugs to be authenticated throughout the supply chain, which could help combat counterfeiting as well as the so-called gray market that's been highlighted in the drug shortage crisis, Democratic staffers who worked on the draft said.
The Associated Press: Under the new health care law, "pharmaceutical lobbyists won new federal policies they coveted and set a trajectory for long-term industry growth." Ramsey Baghdadi, a Washington health policy analyst, "projects a $30 billion, 10-year net gain for the industry. 'I don't see how they could have done much better,'" he said.
