Millstone Medical Outsourcing announced today that the company will open a state-of-the-art, 5,400 square foot clean room at Millstone's headquarters in Fall River, MA. The new clean room, which brings Millstone's overall clean room space to 8,000 plus square feet in total, will be operational by the end of next month.
Published in the March/April issue of AJLM, the article, written by Peter M. Janiszewski, MSc, Travis J. Saunders BSc, and Robert Ross, PhD, at Queen's University, reviews existing evidence that exercise and caloric restriction can be a valid treatment strategy for metabolic syndrome.
Two new studies by researchers at Hospital for Special Surgery have shed light on joint replacement outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. One study overturns the common belief that RA patients have worse outcomes after a total knee replacement than patients who undergo the operation for osteoarthritis. The other study demonstrates that RA patients who undergo a total hip replacement were as likely to have significant improvements in function and pain as patients with osteoarthritis, even though they did not do as well.
An international team of researchers led by Carnegie Mellon University's Manojkumar Puthenveedu has discovered the mechanism by which signaling receptors recycle, a critical piece in understanding signaling receptor function. Writing in the journal Cell, the team for the first time describes how a signaling receptor travels back to the cell membrane after it has been activated and internalized.
