Clinical researchers from Cornell Weil Medical School and University of Chicago Medical School will present research conducted on Raman Molecular Imaging's ability to differentiate diagnostic dilemmas in lung and kidney tumors at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology's 100th Annual Meeting, Feb. 26-March 4 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.
The nation's fourth leading cause of death, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), is now being measured by the Minnesota Department of Health's Environmental Public Health Tracking Program. The program focuses on three major causes of hospitalizations in Minnesota that can be triggered or made worse by environmental factors such as secondhand smoke or outdoor air pollution — asthma, heart attacks and COPD.
CoDa Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of therapeutics for wound care and tissue repair, today announced positive results from its Phase 2 NOVEL Study of NEXAGON® in patients with chronic venous leg ulcers. NEXAGON® is a topically applied, novel therapeutic candidate, with the potential to revolutionize the wound healing treatment paradigm by leveraging a new mechanism and target involved in the healing process.
The emergence of this variant highlighted the uneven pace of mutation and selection of variants. New bioinformatics tools are the need of the hour to clarify this and confirm a dynamic evolution by tracking the mutation rates of the spike protein. It generally takes 1 – 6 months for current variants causing COVID-19 case peaks and deaths to survive the pressure of selection.
A new study from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, shows how analysing spinal fluid can help to detect Alzheimer's disease at an early stage. The researchers behind the study hope that their findings will contribute to a greater international breakthrough for this type of diagnostic method.
