Patients with chronic prostatitis associated with chronic pelvic pain have substantial health care costs and have reduced quality of life, according to an article in the June 14 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
The findings yield important information about the brain's ability to compensate for lost function. The study appears in the October 3, 2004 online issue of Nature Neuroscience1 and in the journal's November issue.
According to a large population study from the United Kingdom, women who smoke or those who have high blood pressure or diabetes are at a greater risk of heart attacks than men with same risks. The study results were published in the latest issue of the journal British Medical Journal.
