Given the progress in therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease (AD), including the recent approval of aducanumab – the first anti-amyloid immunotherapy approved by the FDA for the disease – there is a need for simple blood tests that could be used to ensure accurate diagnosis and assess therapeutic progress.
Neuroscientists have forged an unlikely molecular union as part of their fight against diseases of the brain and nervous system.
MSC's Sepsis Program has demonstrated the capability to increase tested knowledge in early identification and treatment of sepsis among trainees by over 46 percent. The program has been delivered to healthcare providers representing a range of institutions, from community hospitals to large academic teaching hospitals, demonstrating wide applicability among healthcare professionals with varied clinical backgrounds and previous training.
"The need Healthcare Providers have to make supporting documentation available to Payers for both administrative and clinical purposes is increasing" states Steve Stevens, CEO of Jopari Solutions.
Scientists are launching the first clinical trial to test whether drug regimens containing maraviroc, a medication currently approved to treat HIV infection, are also safe and tolerable when taken once daily by HIV-uninfected individuals at increased risk for acquiring HIV infection. The eventual goal is to see if the drug regimens can reduce the risk of infection.
