Meda has acquired three well established OTC products from Norgine, a Dutch pharma company. The products are Pyralvex (relief of pain associated with e.g. aphthous ulcers), Spasmonal (treatment of for example Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Waxsol (ear drops). The largest product is Pyralvex, which has a turnover of about 90 MSEK.
An eight-month study at 21 Canadian hospitals, led by a Canadian Stroke Network and Heart and Stroke Foundation researcher, found that the majority of patients did not receive care on an acute stroke unit.
Clyde Boyce has been hospitalized 14 times in the past four years. Boyce, 61, survived two strokes and five operations to unblock arteries around his heart, including three procedures in which doctors propped open his blood vessels with stents.
