An international team of scientists has found that the polyphenol content of fruits has been underestimated. Polyphenol content in fruits usually refers to extractable polyphenols, but a Spanish scientist working at the Institute of Food Research in Norwich analysed apple, peach and nectarine. She found that nonextractable polyphenol content is up to five times higher than extractable compounds. This work has been published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
Instrumentation Laboratory today announced the commercialization of their HemosIL Rivaroxaban Testing Solution in Europe. The HemosIL Liquid Anti-Xa assay, when used in conjunction with HemosIL Rivaroxaban Calibrators and HemosIL Rivaroxaban controls offers an automated solution for measurement of rivaroxaban.
A study presented today at the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases shows that long-term low levels of vitamin D intake are associated with higher 10-year fracture risk in elderly women.
Respiratory infections are common in preschoolers, but while most children recover fairly easily from the typical coughs and congestion, a significant number develop illnesses severe enough to interfere with breathing and warrant trips to urgent care clinics or emergency rooms.
