CARF re-accredits Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Comprehensive Acute Rehabilitation Unit

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International recently announced that the inpatient rehabilitation program and stroke specialty program of the Comprehensive Acute Rehabilitation Unit of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital have again been re-accredited for a period of three years. The accreditation extends through February 2013.

Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, has published the results of A Randomized Trial of Aspirin at Clinically Relevant Doses and Nitric Oxide Formation in Humans in the current issue of the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Once-daily COPD portfolio data from Novartis presented at European Respiratory Society (ERS) Annual Congress

Novartis announced new analyses of data for once-daily Ultibro® Breezhaler® (investigational QVA149 - indacaterol 85 mcg/glycopyrronium 43 mcg delivered dose, equivalent to 110 mcg/50 mcg metered dose per capsule), which showed significant improvements in lung function, shortness of breath and health-related quality of life for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients versus all comparators1,2. These data were part of 39 respiratory abstracts presented at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Annual Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Dentists: A dentist is a person qualified by a doctorate in dental surgery (D.D.S.) or dental medicine (D.M.D.), licensed by the state to practice dentistry, and practicing within the scope of that license.
