AARP to work with Hollywood to include health care issues in viewing

AARP's Divided We Fail campaign will work with more than 500 Hollywood writers and producers to include messages about health care in the story lines of popular television shows and movies, the groups planned to announce Wednesday, USA Today reports.

Researchers successfully combine antibody-drug conjugate with immunotherapy to attack breast cancer cells

To more efficiently treat breast cancer, scientists have been researching molecules that selectively bind to cancer cells and deliver a substance that can kill the tumor cells, for several years. Researchers from the University and University Hospital Basel have now for the first time successfully combined such an antibody-drug conjugate with a therapy that stimulates the immune system to attack tumor cells.

Boehringer Ingelheim to present new data on BIBW 2992 for NSCLC and head-and-neck cancer at ASCO 2010

Boehringer Ingelheim will present promising new data on non-small cell lung cancer as well as head-and-neck cancer for its leading investigational compound BIBW 2992 at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago, June 4-8, 2010.

High cholesterol and Alzheimer's disease

Amerigroup Corporation today announced that net income for the second quarter of 2011 was $44.3 million, or $0.83 per diluted share, versus net income of $67.2 million, or $1.31 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2010 and compared to $70.5 million, or $1.37 per diluted share, for the first quarter of 2011.
